Accessorizing Your Style

Accessorizing is a great way to add style. Here, a straw Fedora is worn by this stylish mom.

Heels, scarf, jewelry, handbag, you can add color to any outfit and look  fabulous!

Hats are perfect for warmer weather looks and the Fedora is a sure classic!

Developing your own personal style is a fun learning process. Your choice of accessories is an extension of You.

I prefer to go light on my accessories. Keeping it simple adds to my look. Some personal favorites are a pair of gorgeous heels, chunky bangles, and a bright purse. I also like to mix it up with a hat, belt or scarf.

Tip:Choose 2 or 3 accessory pieces to show off your taste.  Too many can be overkill.

Remember to keep an open mind while shopping. You may discover how fabulous you look in a hat!

Strands For Scarves

Scarves, Ladies!

Now that they are in every store, when will you get yours?

Scarves, handbags, shoes, belts, we love  our colorful accents! A scarf will add pizazz to your ensemble and undoubtedly get some notice!

Keeping it simple with one or two splashes will add to your attractive look.

Wearing stripes? Pick a floral pattern to mix it up! Dressed in brights? Choose a softer hue to complete the look.

Just be careful not to overdue it! Too many colorful accessories will detract from YOU.

I traded my necklaces for some lovely scarves, just in time for the warmer weather my way. And I’m looking for a few more…

Puff, the jacket for you?

Most women would agree that men are funny. At least, ‘a good sense of humor’ usually makes THE LIST when searching for our soul-mate.

With that said, men with a good sense of humor can still have style, right?! Of course!

However we like to be laughing with you, not at you funny man!

So here’s my take on the PUFFY.

NOT a pick for the fellas.

We all know what the Michelin Man looks like, and REALLY!!!

No matter how Fit you are, the Puffy does not make any guy look great! Except in this one instance… if the guy wearing the Puffy is skin and bones.

So though the Puffy Jacket has no cool style, we do understand that sometimes in freezing conditions, the ridiculous wins.

And when you see her laughing, you’ll know why.

Love It Nude? I Do

With the new Spring Trends  stocking every closet and drawer across the fashion globe, the shoe that spans the spectrum is “Nudes”.

Dressed for work or play, nude shoes can be worn with everything!

These Beauties add length to legs and since they go with everything, why not make them a staple in your shoe collection?!

Tip: The key to buying “nudes” is to make sure they go with your skin tone.

My Picks:

INC International Concepts

Michael Kors

BCBGeneration

Ivanka Trump

Via Spiga

Flip Your Flops

Love your toes?

She won’t!

Men have hotter views to show us, of the fairer sex, than their feet. To put it plainly, narly toes sporting flip-flops are NOT OK!

The large population of men who wear them, don them for the cooling effect rather than fashion.

So try this alternative that is catching on in hot waves… Espadrilles! They are the best of both worlds. We don’t see your toes and you keep cool while looking HOT at the same time!

Made to conform to your foot, the canvas and rope sole espadrille breathes and allows for comfort on hot days.

Tip: With these classics, sizing down is a good thing. The canvas will stretch and fit your shape perfectly.

My Picks:

Soludos

Tom’s

Drilleys

Save your flip-flops for the beach or pool and wear Espadrilles instead for bumming around.

Toss Your Blues

Pastels are IN! From pinks to shades of yellows, Jeans have been given a tried and true bold wash. For the Trend-setter, these colors are a gold mine! The options are endless!

This time last year, I noticed few ladies braving the colorful denim. These colors are not new so I expect a greater population of bold legs will be showing off their fun fashion this year.

As most of us know, lighter colors add width, darker colors slim down. You know your body better than anyone, so choose your shade to your shape.

My Picks:

Citizens of Humanity

BCBG

Joe’s Jeans

Flat Fashion

Flats are our sole’s traveling relief, whether on our feet or in our bag.

I love mine, and I take them everywhere! When the weather is wet and a little chilly, I like to keep my toes enclosed.

This winter I chose a perfectly red flat to add some pop in my drab wardrobe. But now that Spring colors are blooming on the shelves, I’m out to look for a softer pair…

I came across some Crocs while shopping and…

though their styles are looking a little less harsh on the eyes, I would have to be PAID to wear a pair.

My Picks:

Sperry Top-Sider

Delman

Manly Denim

It’s no secret! Women like seeing a nice Manly ass. What’s more, we like seeing it in Jeans that look… HOT!

Investing in a sweet pair can work to your advantage, so why not?!

Here are some tips to keep in mind while shopping:

1.Spend the time and try on as many brands as you dare. You might have to try on 50 in order to find two you like.

Bringing along a female friend can help, but I recommend hiring a personal stylist to do the job. She will know what really looks good!

2. Don’t think a baggy butt looks cool. It doesn’t! So do a little checking before you spend. Not too tight either, unless you are losing weight. Love handles need to stay well hidden!

3. Do the squat check. You are trying to make a statement, not show us the goods.

4. If your butt is wide or large, stay away from back pocket flaps. Go with a more slimming look.

5. Try on other styles. Don’t get stuck on just one look.

6. Spend some money! Hot Jeans aren’t cheap!

If you want a cheap ass, get some cheap jeans. But… you’re missing the point.

My Picks~

Lucky Brand

True Religion

Diesel

When you ROCK your Jeans,…

Ladies watch out!!

Fashion in the Rain

Gone are the days when wellies were only for tromping thru the mud.

They have evolved in modern times to be the shopper’s fav wear-around boot.

Rain or shine, ladies don their wellies, bright pinks to leopard prints.

  My picks:

1. Kate Spade

2. Ralph Lauren

3.Hunter

What I wear? Kate Spade. I like the ladylike look with the bow and the animal print makes a splash with any ensemble.

Maxi, Frumpy or Fabulous?

This past fall and winter, I have noticed some frumpy looks while out and about.
Putting a little thought into choosing a style of maxi skirt will be to your advantage!
So here are my 2 cents:
If you are petite, it’s a little tricky; however you can beautifully pull off a maxi skirt.
Select a style that is well-cut and fits snugly to your figure. A lot of fabric can make you look shorter and frumpy, which you should avoid at all cost!

Choose patterns and colors that elongate, like vertical lines and dark colors. White will not do.
Heels and wedges add height. Stay away from flat sandals.
What you wear on top can add to your look. For example, a longer jacket will add height and also can hide.
If you are of average height or tall, you can’t go wrong with a maxi. You can wear flowing styles or snug.
Flat sandals, wedges, anything goes.

A rule of thumb when looking at design: Horizontal patterns add width. Vertical patterns add height. Angular patterns detract from width and can add height.

I really like the hi-lo style of maxi. It’s versatile. Tall and petite can wear this look! Pair it with some cute wedges and you’re set!

With the right style for your shape, you can look fabulous in a Maxi!
